Tarzan Boy

L’urlo di Tarzan usato come linea melodica è il lampo di genio che nel 1985 riuscì a fare un successo di “Tarzan Boy”, unica hit di Baltimora, un gruppo oscillante tra pop e new wave, composto da Jimmy McShane, cantante e ballerino nordirlandese e dagli autori di testi e musiche, Maurizio Bassi e Naimy Hackett. Il pezzo fu inserito nell’album “Living in the background”. Nel 1987 il progetto Baltimora sfornò “Survivor in love” con “Key Key Karimba” come singolo di punta.

Uscito nell’aprile del 1985, “Tarzan Boy” si installò al primo posto delle classifiche canadesi, olandesi e francesi, al secondo in Austria e Irlanda, al terzo in Germania e Regno Unito, al quinto in Italia e al tredicesimo negli Stati Uniti.

Il brano fu inserito nel 1993 nella colonna sonora di “Tartarughe Ninja III”. Il frontman Jimmy McShane morì due anni dopo, stroncato dall’AIDS.
